Journal Mosaic

Your writing, reimagined

Journal Mosaic is a multi-modal journaling companion that turns what you write into art, short video, and music. It helps you notice patterns in your mood over time, keeps your most sensitive entries encrypted on your own device, and lets you share selected moments with a community feed — only when you choose to.

Write the way that suits you

A rich, distraction-free editor

Write with headings, bold and italics, lists, quotes, and links — everything saved in a clean, readable format. Keep separate journals for different parts of your life, each with its own name, icon, and colour, and pick which one an entry belongs to as you write.

Voice dictation and writing prompts

Speak an entry instead of typing it and insert the transcript when you are done. If you are not sure where to start, ask for a short reflective prompt and use it as your opening line.

AI help while you write

When you enable analysis for an entry, Journal Mosaic reads what you wrote and offers structure you can accept or overrule — you always have the final say.

  • Suggested mood and a matching emoji for each entry
  • Suggested tags, such as relationships, work, or health, that you can filter by later
  • Tone analysis showing the emotional tones detected across an entry
  • A Writing Coach that gives feedback on style, on a highlighted passage or the whole entry
  • AI personas that change the coach’s voice, from a Zen Master to a Creative Muse

Turn entries into art, motion, and sound

Image, video, and music generation all work per entry and on demand. Each opens a popup where you can review and fine-tune the prompt before anything is generated.

Images

Generate artwork from an entry, choosing a style such as watercolour, cinematic, or anime, and an image model. You can use your avatar as a reference, or upload your own reference image. The prompt you confirm is saved with the entry and reused later.

Short videos

Animate an entry’s image into a short looping video, optionally using your avatar or an alternate keyframe as reference. When an entry has both, you choose which one its card displays.

Ambient music loops

Compose a short ambient track matched to the entry, choosing a duration and a genre. Once generated it plays from the entry card and loops.

Find and understand your entries

  • Search by text, mood, or date, and filter by tag, mood, or a date range
  • On This Day resurfaces entries from the same calendar day in previous years
  • An analytics snapshot shows your entry count, longest writing streak, and mood breakdown
  • Export all your entries, or just the ones matching your current filters, as a file you can keep

The community Mosaic feed

The Mosaic is an optional shared space. Only entries you explicitly choose to share appear there, and you can post under a display name or anonymously.

  • A grid of shared entries showing image or video, mood, and a short excerpt
  • Emoji reactions as a gentle way to show support
  • Comments on shared entries — plain text, with links blocked, and reporting available
  • Browse while logged out; log in to react or comment

Your identity and avatar

Set an optional display name for shared entries, and create a custom avatar by uploading a photo or taking one with your camera, then picking an art style. You can switch between your original photo and the generated avatar, or regenerate it later without re-uploading.

Private Vault

For your most sensitive writing, turn on Private Vault for an entry. The text is encrypted on your device before it leaves, and the service stores only a scrambled version it cannot read. You unlock the vault with your password to read those entries again.

  • Private Vault entries are never analysed by AI
  • They never generate images, video, or music
  • They can never be shared to the community Mosaic
  • Exports contain only the encrypted form — your vault password is never included

How costs work

Journal Mosaic uses a prepaid wallet rather than a subscription. Your balance shows in the header, and media generation draws small amounts from it. A Usage & Billing page breaks down your balance, storage use, and recent activity by category.

If your balance reaches zero, generating new media is paused until you top up. Writing and text-only features keep working.
